As their name implies, Feywarden Crossbows were created for the sole task of defending the wild forests of Faerun. Legend has it that at the dawn of creation, a druid was assigned to each of the forests of the world and these were the weapons they held. Sentiment aside, it should be noted that the "dawn of creation" was an awfully long time ago, and these items bear design principles developed somewhat more recently.
