Many years ago there lived a dark rogue named Falashan. Although highly skilled as a rogue, he all too often found himself in difficulties from the necromancy of powerful casters and the sharp swords of powerful melee combatants. Eventually he decided that he had taken enough of this, and began to study the dark arts himself. Although powerful as a rogue, he found his skill with the arcane actually exceeded his roguish skills so much that he turned to the arcane as his primary weapon. However, he always felt some sentiment about his past roguish life, and would often fall back into those ways. The circle of roguish allies he had ever grew, but all the time he saw them running into the same proplems he had always had - those with powerful magic would drain his them untill they were too weak to do anything but submit defeat, or powerful fighters would run up close and hack them down. For the sake of his friends, he worked on making bows that might go some way towards covering these weaknesses, and eventually managed to craft some bows like this one. Quite what happened to Falashan is not certain. Many think that eventually one of his own friends turned coat on him, and felled him with one of his own bows. Others believe he simply faded into darkness for a time, and will one day rise again when enough Rogues call for his aid.
