A lowly and wholly unknown evil wizard named Samarn apparently had an infatuation with hurling magical missiles at people, and crafted this ring to assist him in that endeavor. He set his sights no higher than basic spells and, fortunately for society as a whole, never managed to live long enough to try.
This ring allows the wearer to memorize six additional first level spells daily.
