The Spider Wand was first created by an outcast mage who lived on his own in a forest. The forest was said to be full of spiders, and gradually the mage became more and more like them. The wand was lost when he got too bold around the spiders - so they ate him. Copies have been found from time to time, but no-one knows which are the copies and which is the original.
