Once a great mage specializing in summoning and plane traveling, Marka Domevain was of great reknown and interest. Her expertise was sought after by many mages interested in the her chosen fields as well as the wealthy who sought after many of the unique objects she brought back with her from her trips to various planes. Marka Domevain, encouraged by her success took greater and greater risks traveling farther and farther to less known and more dangerous places in search of new knowledge and adventure. This in the end, would turn out to be her undoing. For on her last trip she returned staggering back through the portal she had opened, white as a ghost, unable to speak, this staff clutched tightly in her hands. From that day forth whatever horrors Marka had seen had affected her her mind so horribly that she refused to practice the arcane arts and spent the rest of her days in a state of mental shock having to be tended to by her own servants much like a small child. Whatever forces Marka encounter on the other plane, is was surely terrifying and powerful indeed, to have brought such a dramatic change to the light of one who held such great promise. And so, this staff and duplicates like it are all that remain of a great legacy in the making and a chilling reminder to all mages who would stray too far from their own plane.
