When the Manonera were driven back, the Elves still faced continuous harrasment from Manonera raids. Often parties of Rangers were sent deep into the Desert lands to stem these attacks before they could even truly begin. These shields were granted to those souls who dared these missions, though often the wielders failed to return. After the Manonera wars, these shields were stowed away to limit their use in latter Elven wars.
