The warrior monks of the Order of the Rising Dragon were famous fighters throughout the Eastern Lands, and often wore flamboyant robes during combat. Upon his arrival at the Ten Dragons Monastery, Taroc, a monk of the Rising Dragon, studied hard with Brother Koh as his mentor, to learn new forms of martial art. It is said that during one such training session which took place in the harsh lands surrounding the Three Towns, Taroc encountered a powerful mage named Althalus, who enhanced his robes with the use of magic. However, such power is not aquired without effort, and Taroc found that while he wore the robes, he seemed to have greater prowess in combat, but the magic imbued in the robes seemed to drain his mental strength, and so he spent much of his time in deep meditation to strengthen his spirit and refresh his mind.
